About this Item

Quarto (7-3/4" x 10-3/4") bound in velvet-covered boards. Elizabeth Bishop's senior yearbook at Vassar, of which she was the editor-in-chief. This can certainly be considered, as anyone who has ever been in charge of a yearbook may tell you, Bishop's first book, predating NORTH & SOUTH by 12 years. Profusely illustrated, with two photographs of Bishop, her senior photograph and a group shot of the yearbook staff. Underclassman Muriel Rukeyser has a poem here also. A scarce Bishop item, and the best copy of the several we have handled over the course of 25 years. A few, inevitable marks to the velvet. A Fine, fresh copy with no writing within other than the 1934 name of a classmate on the front free endpaper. Bookseller Inventory # 017233
