Hardback book bound in blue cloth-covered boards with illustration of jet aircraft and radar unit on the cover. No defects to note on the book. Book provides a brief history of Air Defense that was inaugurated in 1949 and had grown from two temporary radar units to eight by 1955. Continental Air Defense Command was headed by General Earle E. Partridge with Major General Morris B. Nelson head of Eastern Air Defense Force and Brigadier General Robert S. Israel, Jr. was Commander of the 32nd Air Division. There are black and white photos of all the men and women associated with the 32nd Air Division located at: Otis Air Force Base; Division Headquarters Syracuse, New York; Niagara Falls, New York; Saratoga Springs, New York; Presque Isle AFB, Maine; Ethan Allen AFB, Winooski, Vermont; and Griffiss AFB, Rome, New York; Dow AFB, Bangor, Maine; Caswell, Maineand Charleston, Maine. .
