Jill Elgin also illustrated a number of children's books, such as 'The Adventures of Silly Billy', written in 1961. Mildred P. Geiger was born on 9 Jun 1908 in Galena, Illinois. Her father was Henry George Geiger who was born August 31, 1871 in Galena, Illinois. Her grandfather had been born in Baden Germany and spoke German. Her mother was Mildred Palmer who had been born in January 1869 in Illinois. Mildred Geiger had a sister Margaret M. born in 1899 and a brother Wallace Palmer Geiger born in 1902.
