A graduate of John Hopkins Medical School, he served his internship and residency at the University of Minnesota Hospitals and is now on staff of the Hennepin County General Hosapital in Minneapolis." He was stationed in Japan where the Army hospitals were averaging six to eight thousand patients a month, many of them flown in by med-evac heliocopters from the war in Viet Nam. So many of the injuries were horrific and the stories attached to them were nightmarish and the soldiers were so young, just out of high school. The large staff of doctors and surgeons saved thousands of boys but the effort had its price. "The stories I tried to tell are true. Those that happened in Japan I was part of; the rest were from boys that I met. I would have liked to disbelieve some of them, and at first I did, but I was there long enough to hear the same stories again and again, and then to see part of it myself." --- Dr. Glasser. His tour of one year in Japan working with the wounded soldiers from the Viet Nam war. Bookseller Inventory # 000502
