1952, 4to, (12x9.5 inches), no pagination, about 300pp, hundreds of photographs. VG. The 4th Division was reactivated as a combat division at Fort Benning on October 10, 1950, under command of Maj. Gen. Harlan N. Hartness, then a brigadier general. Basic training was completed late in December, 1950, and advanced training was completed by all units in April, 1951. Shortly thereafter, the 4th Division sailed for Europe to become the first addition to NATO, and set up headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany.
