Cavendish Rare Books was founded in 1976 in the Princes Arcade, Piccadilly, London, by Mrs. Grigor-Taylor and has operated continuously since then, specialising in Voyages, Travel & Exploration, Maritime History, Mountaineering & Alpine literature. Emphasis is given to fine condition books on Asia & the Pacific, North & Central Asia, Polar and Alpine regions, and all remote parts of the world. Today, sales are through occcasional catalogues, international antiquarian book fairs and the internet, with priority given to customer 'Wants Lists'. Terms of sale
Payment with order is required. Any book(s) found to be unsatisfactory must be returned by first class post within seven days of receipt. Refunds are payable only on safe receipt by Cavendish Rare Books of the book(s), securely wrapped and in the same condition as originally sent. All books remain the property of Cavendish Rare Books until paid in full.
We guarantee the condition of every book as it is described on the Abebooks web site. If you are not satisfied with your purchase (Incorrect Book/Not as Described/Damaged) or if your order has not arrived, you are eligible for a refund within 30 days of the estimated delivery date.
Shipping terms
Orders usually ship within 2 business days. Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 LB, or 1 KG. If your book order is heavy or oversized, we may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required.
Postage is charged at cost. Books to addresses within the UK and EU are sent by first class post; books to the rest of the world are sent by first class airmail for single books or Global Mailing air services for multiple books. All shipments are fully insured.
