On the 6th June 1944, at 02.08 hours, the Regiment jumped into the town of Picauville, to begin a series of remarkable and successful missions in France, Holland, the Ardennes and Germany that would result in their being chosen to serve as Honour Guard around Eisenhower's HQ at the end of the War.
