About the Book

We're sorry; this specific copy is no longer available. Here are our closest matches for 53 Stations of Tokaido by Utagawa Hiroshige.

Famous scenes realized by Hiroshige presented in a miniature leporello format. N.d, circa early to mid-20th Century. The leporello has mounted color woodblocks on both sides. The scenes are of harbors, streets, bridges, town and countryside, and of course Mount Fuji. This is most unusual in this smaller format. The leporello closed measures 9 by 6 cm, or 3.5 by 2.5. Boards have an usual kimono fabric with semi-abstract human figures and floral patterns. The paste used to mount the woodblocks is occasionally dry on an edge or two. Otherwise, a clean and handsome item, clearly intended as a souvenir. Bookseller Inventory #
