About this title

Help! She s not breathing! Call 9-1-1! Within minutes, help has arrived. And this scenario is repeated, day after day, without fail. Emergency medical professionals, firefighters, police officers, doctors, nurses, the military whoever is required will be on the scene.

These everyday heroes are sometimes victims themselves of the stress of constantly attending disasters, especially those involving children; or, on occasion, members of their own families. Post-traumatic stress is a common ailment.

In this book, Vali Stone gives a voice to some of these 9-1-1 responders. In these true stories, we learn about their hopes and fears, their worst moments, and their strangest experiences.

About the Author:

Vali Stone resides in Newmarket, Ontario, with her husband, Paul, a constable with the Toronto Police Services. They have two children, Michelle and Trevor.

Vali is the author of Cops Don t Cry, a book of help and hope for police families that has become a national best seller.
