Synopsis

About the Author

Born in New York, Alan Furst has lived for long periods in France, especially in Paris, and has travelled as a journalist in eastern Europe and Russia. He has written extensively for Esquire and the International Herald Tribune. Now a full-time novelist, he lives on Long Island, New York.

It was a journalistic assignment to Moscow that inspired him to write Night Soldiers, the first of his highly original, atmospheric novels about espionage in eastern and western Europe before and during World War II. Since then he has published Dark Star, The Polish Officer and The World at Night, all of which have received outstanding critical. acclaim.

Alan Furst has recently completed a new novel, Red Gold, which is a sequel to The World at Night.
