Text: English, German (translation)From Library Journal:
Originally delivered in 1919, and later collected in a 1974 volume entitled Was Sollen Wir Tun? ( What Ought We To Do ?), these 12 sermons are finally appearing in an English edition. First comes discussion of the "basic ethical attitude" (reverence for life), then exploration of ways to live out Jesus's absolute standards in the 20th century. Stressing that small actions and underlying attitudes are the seeds from which more complex ethical behavior springs, these reflections show the same combination of idealism and sophistication that Schweitzer's life embodied.
