Pups Speak Up was inspired by a question Maxine Meltzer was asked while working in the Children's Division of Beverly Hills Public Library. She studied Art, and Folklore & Mythology at UCLA. Currently making ceramic and glass art in Southern California with her husband, she has no pets, though she occassionally dog-sits a friend's dog and often hugs the cat next door.
