Grade 3-5 In this limp addition to the ro bot pal ouevre, young Humbert's par ents are too busy to take care of him one summer, so they entrust him to an eccentric uncle and a housekeeper ro bot named Manders. While Humbert finds his summer adventurous and ex citing, most young readers will lose in terest quickly. The humor is forced and often dependent upon knowledge of British terms. Characterization is un even and doesn't always relate to the story. Readers will be better served by Wilkes' C.L.U.T.Z. (Dial, 1982) or Slote's My Robot Buddy (Lippincott, 1975).Anne Connor, Los Angeles Public Library
