Lesson Objectives Lesson objectives are suggested outcomes of what your students may be capable of achieving after completing a lesson. Note that some lessons may have more than one objective. The objective(s) for each lesson is numbers to match the lesson number in the Student Edition. Test Items Each lesson objective is followed by the number and type of items available for that objective. There are two types of test items available in both multiple choice format and in free response format. · Dynamic Test Items: These items are created for you using algorithms and values in given ranges. Therefore, many different variations of these questions are possible. An objective that is tested with Dynamic Test items has two items available-one in multiple choice format and one in free response format. A sample test item is printed for each of these. · Static Test Items: These items remain the same and are all printed in this booklet. An objective that is tested with static test items has ten items available-five in multiple choice format and 5 in free response format. Each chapter also has two Performance Assessment Items. These are always listed as an additional objective at the end of each chapter. Their purpose is to determine what students know and what they can do. They are generally more open-ended and provide an opportunity for students to evaluate the processes involved in a task. A scoring guide is provided for these items in the software.
