A reporter and writer for more than 20 years, she was raised around porcelains, glass, and contemporary art, all passionately collected by her parents. As a young adult, Sonia collected antique cameras and Depression glass. She is still an avid collector of items from the Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau periods, including art glass, pottery, beaded purses, and boxes in various media.
