This book demonstrates that while women have achieved greater salary equity within academic ranks at universities, their acceptance into tenured positions and into non-traditional, male dominated disciplines is exceedingly slow. The author reports and analyzes the results of a study of the economic effects of salary systems in public higher education and investigates the salary determination system at two large urban public universities, one using a contract salary system and the other a single salary system.
