Kindergarten-Grade 3 Three of the stories from the "Frog and Toad" books (Harper) have been adapted to the pop-up format: "The Garden," "A Swim" and "The Kite." The narrative for each story is word for word from the original stories but each is condensed into a four-page length. The colorful pop-ups are visually appealing and true to the nature of the characters and situations, and "Frog and Toad" fans will welcome a new look at their friends. However, for beginning readers, the amount of print per page is overwhelming, while the limited number of pop-ups will not extend the attention span of young listeners.
