Liesel Moak Skorpen was born in Germany, and came to the United States as a young child. She grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and went on to attend Wells College and then Yale University. Originally published in 1968, Outside My Window was her second picture book, and she went on to write many more. Ms. Skorpen lives with her husband in Maine.
