About the Author:

Todd Fahnestock and Giles Carwyn met in high school nineteen years ago. Within an hour of meeting, they started a philosophical conversation they haven't been able to finish yet. Their nomadic lifepaths have crisscrossed again and again. Through the years they have dated the same women, been best man at each other's weddings, and attended the births of each other's children. They currently live twenty-five blocks from each other in Littlewood, Colorado, with their stunning wives, Lara and Tanya, and their freakishly well-named children: Liefke, Elowyn, Luna, and the Dash-man.

This series opener details a crisis that starts in the city-state Ohndarien and threatens to destroy an entire land. The Ohndariens enjoy more freedom and less violence than people in surrounding lands because the ruling council, the Brothers and Sisters of the Seasons, swears to put others' needs before its members' desires and to individually risk death before being allowed to rule. But a 13-year-old mystery is breeding restlessness in Ohndarien, and then the Heir of Autumn is falsely accused of murder and exiled. The city has been betrayed, and the accused Brophy must face outland treachery and solve the old mystery before the entire land combusts in blood and hatred. The book boasts well-drawn characters in a well-designed world; the main drawback is its erotic content, which threatens to overwhelm the other plot elements.
