LJ' s reviewer called the first edition "a unique source" ( LJ 2/15/87) for subjects including Noble Prize winners and U.S. presidents of Irish heritage; Irish toasts, proverbs, and songs; meanings of Irish family names; biographies of notable Irish-Americans; profiles of Ireland's counties; as well as "green pages" listing U.S. sources for Irish-related products and services. LJ 's reviewer complained of a lack of index; this edition has one. In addition to updating existing material, this edition also has chapters on genealogy and Irish language, food, and drink. The editor plans to update every two years.
