James C. Bassett was born on the U.S. Naval Submarine Base at Groton, Connecticut, to a career military family. Moving an average of once a year, he grew up in places as diverse as California, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Florida, and Indonesia. He currently lives in Gainesville, Florida, his thirty-first home. He has held a variety of jobs from bouncer to parking lot attendant, from typesetter to software testing supervisor. Having finally admitted that he can't hold a real job, he works part-time at the University of Florida, writes, and sculpts. He co-wrote and co-starred in "Twisted Tales", called one of the twenty most important underground movies of all time by "Film Threat Video Guide".
