Surprising, entertaining, and always imparting an important life lesson, Itís How You Play the Game features anecdotes and vignettes that are sure to benefit any reader. As Brian Kilmeade writes, "Regardless of who you are, what sport you chose, or how much success you achieved, playing the game is all about getting you ready for life. Winning or losing has little to do with who you will become. Instead, itís how you prepared for the game that determines whether youíll be a winner or loser in life."
From competition to camaraderie, failure to success, humiliation to glory, individual achievement to teamwork, the world of sports encompasses it all and enriches our lives. The Games Do Count reveals that Americaís best and brightest havenít just worked hard—theyíve played hard—and the results have been staggering!

Cohost of cable television's number one morning show, Fox & Friends, Brian Kilmeade has reported on or provided live coverage of every major American sport over the last twenty years. He lives in Massapequa, New York, where he still coaches soccer. From AudioFile:
These two books focus on life lessons drawn from the experiences of prominent sports stars, such as football player Terry Bradshaw and wrestler Dwayne The Rock Johnson, and other public figures, such as Condoleezza Rice and John Kerry. The various celebrities make their moral points well. But, in most cases, the author narrates the first-person parts of their stories in the same voice he uses for third-person portions of the book. This makes it difficult for listeners to distinguish between the authors words and those of the celebrity. In addition, Kilmeade reads nearly all the entries in the hyperactively enthusiastic style of many sports broadcasters. Using multiple narrators would have enhanced this book greatly and rendered its points more effectively. R.C.G. © AudioFile 2007, Portland, Maine-- Copyright © AudioFile, Portland, Maine
