About the Author:
Jean Pennington, PH.D., R.D., is an author in the area of food and nutrient databases. She received her degrees in physiology and nutrition from the University of California at Berkeley. Early in her career, Dr. Pennington taught nutrition and physiology courses in the San Francisco Bay area for eight years. For the past 20 years, she has served as a public health nutritionist with the U.S. government. She resides in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
