About the Author

Scott Urman (Foster City, CA) is a Senior Member of the Technical Staff in the Diagnostic and Defect Resolution team in Oracle's Server Technologies Division. He is primarily responsible for fixing defects in Oracle's JDBC drivers, as well as in PL/SQL. Through his support experience, he is familiar with all of Oracle's language products (PL/SQL, OCI, the Oracle Precompilers, and JDBC). In addition, he reviews Oracle technical documentation, writes white papers on Oracle languages, and makes technical presentations both inside Oracle and at meetings of Oracle User's Groups. Scott is the best-selling author of Oracle Press' "Oracle8 PL/SQL Programming," "Oracle PL/SQL Programming," and "Oracle8i Advanced PL/SQL Programming."
