Sigamos (Let's Continue) is a new second year program consisting of a grammar review text plus coordinated reader. It offers students the opportunity to refine and polish previously acquired skills while, at the same time, moving them toward increased proficiency and preparing them for more advanced studies in Spanish. The text is designed to increase students¿ abilities with the four basic skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing, using materials which are both informative and culturally appropriate. The structure of the text, while simple and straightforward, with a minimum of pedagogical apparatus, has an upbeat tone that focuses on the positive accomplishments of Hispanic people and culture.

Lydia Vélez Román has a Ph.D. in Spanish American Literature from the University of California, Irvine. She has published articles, poetry, and short stories in literary magazines here in the US and in Latin America. One of her poems, "A las mujeres" was set to music and included in a performance at the Centro de Bellas Artes in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Jacqueline M. Kiraithe-Córdova has a Ph.D. in Spanish and Portugese from The University of California, Los Angeles. She has been actively involved in foreign language, ESOL, and bilingual teacher training for 30 years, Including the development of many intensive Spanish courses at various summer institutes in Mexico. She has twice been awarded distinctions for meritorious performance at CSU Fullerton, for teaching excellence, community involvement, and service to the language teaching profession.
