1994 was an eventful year for space astronomy. The ASCA satellite provided the first glimpse of the potential of good spectral resolution in the important 1-10 ke V X-ray band while the realization of the full imaging capability of the Hubble Space Telescope opened up new vistas in the ultraviolet (and optical). At the same time data has continued to flow from the ROSAT satellite and the Extreme Ultraviolet Explorer (EUVE) while IUE, the International Ultraviolet Explorer, set more records for longevity and productivity. The papers presented focus on the new results emanating from these space missions.
