It relates the discipline of the factory to the rule of law, the criminality of the street to that of the corporation, and it critically considers the significance of new trends in legislation and control under advanced capitalism.
Capitalism and the Rule of Law represents a major breakthrough in the study of the relationship between Marxist theory and capitalist discipline. The book is based on a selection of papers delivered at the joint conference held between the Conference of Socialist Economists and the National Deviancy Conference in January 1979, the theme being 'Capitalist Discipline and the Rule of Law'.
