The author has revisited many of the 115 courses, checking earlier recommendations. In his selection of courses, he writes from the standpoint of a handicap player rather than a scratch golfer. All the championship courses are included but variety, natural surrounding beauty and technical interest are all factors which score points. The relative difficulty of each course becomes apparent through the hole-by-hole descriptions of rounds which the author has played.
