The Advisory Committee on the Microbiological Safety of Food was set up to advise on the public health aspects of microbiological food safety; to review available information on human foodborne illness due to micro-organisms; to provide expert advice on the threat to human health arising from particular pathogens; to advise on public health related research matters; and to advise on the results of food surveillance and the possible human health implications of the results. This report is a statement of the Committee's progress from 1990-1992.
