This is a timely and excellent summary of three areas of bioheat transfer that have been the subject of considerable interest over the past decade: the search for a fundamental tissue energy equation to describe microvascular blood perfusion, the modeling of cellular and tissue processes at high and low temperatures, and a summary of the latest temperature measurement techniques for living tissue.
