From the Back Cover:
Many of the most important discoveries of biochemical genetics, cell and molecular biology, and developmental biology were made using Neurospora as the model system. Indeed, most biology courses have a special section devoted to the unusual biology of Neurospora. This compendium will list all the known mutations in Neurospora. Each entry will include the details of phenotypic (usually biochemical) characterization of the mutant, the location (if known) on the chromosome, and any other information that researchers might find useful. This book will be a must for all those working with Neurospora and shall also be immensely useful for anyone working on any other fungal model systems such as Aspergillus and yeasts.
