About the Author:

Inge founded CanAm Security Risk Group, LLC, and serves as president and consultant. Inge holds her BA in Human Services/Criminal Justice and her Law Enforcement Certificate, both from Metro State University in St. Paul, MN.

Inge's security career started in 1977, joining ASIS International in 1983. Inge earned her CPP (Certified Protection Professional) in 1995 and CPOI (Certified Protection Officer Instructor). After years as an investigator, Inge obtained her license as a Private Investigator in Minnesota in 1991, as well as her license in Quebec and Ontario Canada in 2008. She earned her CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) in 1995 and in 2000 earned designation as a Certified Emergency Manager by both FEMA and the State of Minnesota.

For the past 35 years, Inge has been in the corporate and private field, conducting interviews and investigations involving fraud, internal theft, corporate espionage, embezzlement, and workplace issues including workplace violence and harassment. Inge successfully obtained hundreds of confessions for prosecution, knowing the criticality of preparation, forming rapport with everyone she interviews, and the value of documentation. Her interviewing skills also serve her well when she conducts security risk assessments, which has become a common assignment since 2000. Inge has conducted security and threat risk assessments for both government properties and private corporations. Besides investigations, she also conducts security audits, writes policies and procedures, and provides security analysis and consulting services in the area of physical security.

Inge is a certified security trainer in Minnesota and has trained security personnel in the areas of investigations, contract security management, emergency planning, and physical security audits. She was a security management instructor at Saint Paul Technical College and Pine Technical College, both in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Inge has been serving on ASIS International committees since 1983, when she served on the Educational Committee as well as President Reagan's Rape and Violent Crime Committee. In 2008, until 2013, she served on the Physical Security Council. Currently Inge serves as Vice Chair for the Crime Prevention and Loss Prevention Council.

Ms. Black has been a speaker at several ASIS International conferences since 1983, and also served as chair for several ASIS International workshops on security force management.
