has been recognized for professional excellence with honors that include the "Outstanding Service Award" from the Association of Health Occupation Teacher Educators. After spending a number of years as a Registered Nurse, she turned her focus on education. Her teaching experience spanned more than 20 years before she became the Chairman of the Department of Occupational & Technology Education at the University of Central Oklahoma. Her work has been published in numerous journals and she has been a contributing author for various nursing assistant textbooks. She holds a doctorate in Vocational Education Administration.
