The subject of water quality is also introductory to understand the reasons for the selection of processes in water and wastewater treatment.
In presenting water supply and wastewater management, the approach is traditional, covering water distribution, processing, and operation of systems separated from wastewater collection, treatment, and operation. We have carefully integrated the subject matter in each area so readers can clearly understand the interrelationships between individual unit operations and integration of systems as a whole. The final chapters on advanced wastewater treatment and water reuse are increasingly important in many regions for pollution control and beneficial use of water resources.
