About the Author:

Colleen Belk and Virginia Borden have been colleagues and collaborators for more than 13 years. They have taught both majors and non-majors Biology courses at the University of Minnesota Duluth and brought the innovations in teaching and learning used in this book to both types of classes. Colleen and Virginia are co-authors of Biology: Science for Life, a general biology text for non-majors, and Biology: Science for Life Laboratory Manual.
