About the Author:

Deb Curtis has a twenty-year history as a toddler and preschool teacher, Head Start education coordinator, and college instructor.  She has a Master's degree from Pacific Oaks College and has co-authored two books, Training and Teachers: A Harvest of Theory and Practice and Spreading the News: Sharing the Stories of Early Childhood Education.  Her passion for children and their caregivers has led to active involvement in the Worthy Wage Campaign and to co-produce a video, Making News, Making History, which chronicles the gorwth of this important movement.

Margie Carter has worked as an elementary teacher, child care director, college instructor, and consultant over the last thirty years.  She is familiar to many as a contributing editor to Child Care Information Exchange magazine, and as the principal trainer in the video Time With Toddlers.  She has developed several training projects for early childhood educators working on cultural sensitivity and violence prevention and co-authored two books.  Margie views early childhood programs as learning communities for adults and children and pomotes mentoring and support systems to that end.
