This work is designed to give takers of the SAT an understanding of the test's flaws and to provide pre-test strategies. Chapters on why the SAT is unfair, a bill of rights for test-takers, and other areas of pre-test-taking preparation are included. The middle section of the work provides concrete suggestions which will help the SAT-taker study and prepare for the test. The final two chapters explain how to challenge a poor score or a question you feel has another correct answer, and suggestions for helping make the SAT a more fair test. The majority of Weiss's work is devoted to challenging the need for the SAT and to strategies students can use to overcome a poor score. Most students' time will be better spent finding and reading a good SAT preparation manual. However, students who have specific handicaps will find the suggestions useful.
