To overcome stress; increase confidence; improve personality, relationships, memory, and health; eliminate bad habits; and advance in work, Mind Power preaches positive thinking, along with a few self-hypnosis techniques. Ostensibly by Gini Graham Scott, author of a book of the same title, the tapes consist mostly of a monolog by an unidentified, sonorous male voice, with only a few dialog examples. The four-tape set is a waste, as the same information could easily be placed on two. A workbook reinforces the tape's points, with space for self-evaluative exercises. The packaging is clumsy, and not suited to library use. The set cannot be used while driving, reducing the potential audience. Though there is some merit to the principles, this set is overextended in many ways, and not recommended.
