In NASCAR, there's nothing abstract about teamwork: any mistake, any momentary lapse in coordination, can cost you victory. Take unnecessary risks, and you'll never make it to the checker... but play it too safe and you won't stand a chance. Pit crews have learned extraordinary lessons about teamwork and collaboration: lessons that apply directly to today's business teams. As in NASCAR, business teams must face off against competitive teams that are working non-stop to sharpen their skills. Today, no team can succeed with mediocre performance, rely on their traditional strengths, or hide their weakest links. With fortunes on the line, how do you successfully compete today, standardize on best practices, yet plan for the future and innovate to stay ahead of your competition? In Winning from the Pit, the former pit crew coach for Hendricks Motorsports delivers breakthrough lessons and techniques for creating a high-performing organization. Drawing on years of personal experience in the pits, Andrew Papathanassiou shows how to achieve maximum collaboration and performance in any team. Papathanassiou combines practical lessons with an intimate look at life inside the NASCAR pits.
