This is a post-elementary, low-intermediate course specifically designed for young trainess who will be working in hotels and restaurants where they will need English to deal with their customers. Throughout the course, the emphasis is on speaking and understanding English in the contexts of restaurant, kitchen and bar, reception, reservation and all "front of house" areas. The 28 units cover a range of topics, such as how to take bookings, methods of cooking, names of dishes, various methods of payment, dealing with enquiries and complaints and giving directions. Each unit has two listening sections with accompanying activities. The scripts for these dialogues are included at the back of the Student's Book, along with a multilingual word list in English, French, Spanish, Italian, German and Greek. The Student's Book also contains a language study and practice section, an activity section and a further word study section.
