Based on the original languages, it included introductions and notes from a Roman Catholic perspective. Edited by ecumenically recognized Roman Catholic scholars, but deliberately reflecting Roman Catholic teaching, the present volume includes the complete text of the New American Bible, along with updated essays on the Bible generally and guides to individual books.
