An historical and political analysis of ethnicity's role in Pakistani politics and society. The author has compiled and reinterpreted his writings of 25 years to develop a contemporary account of ethnic differences in Pakistan. This text offers insights into past events combined with theoretical explanation and social analysis but, at the same time, it remains close to the realities on the ground. It will be a source of reference for social and political studies of ethnicity in Pakistan for years to come.
