About the Author:

Since 1978 Theodor Meron has been Professor of International Law at New York University School of Law, specialising in human rights, humanitarian law, international criminal law and law and literature.

Review:

`War Crimes Law Comes of Age is a collection of eloquent essays in which Theodor Meron not only demonstrates the central thesis contained in the title, but also illustrates the longevity of war crimes law in the annals of history.' Richard J. Goldstone, Justice of the Constitutional Court of South Africa, The American Journal of International Law

`Every chapter represents an authoritative, precise engagement with individual facets of humanitarian law that readers will find both interesting and highly instructive.' Richard J. Goldstone, Justice of the Constitutional Court of South Africa, The American Journal of International Law

`Professor Meron ... covers such a broad range of issues and developments with his trademark incisiveness and detailed analysis ... there is much to be said for a collection of essays of this kind when they are the work of an authority with the standing of Professor Meron.' Prof. Tim McCormack, NILR 2000

`For those who have read Meron's works previously this book places the most significant pieces in one handy volume. FOr those who have not, it is essential reading for those who wish to understand how the current position has been reached.' Peter Rowe, International and Comparative Law Quarterly
