Synopsis
A collection of illustrated text extracts selected especially to introduce junior age children to a wide range of text types. Texts for Sharing 2 is appropriate for 8-9 year olds and includes: playscripts; poetry in a range of forms and on common themes; newspaper reports and articles;
stories that raise issues; persuasive writing.
In the Big Book, teaching ideas by literacy consultant Julie Carr are included, which offer ideas for using the texts in shared and group sessions, and as stimuli for children's own writing.
