Nuclear magnetic resonance techniques have advanced dramatically in recent years, and are now more powerful and more versatile than ever before. In order to exploit these techniques efficiently, chemists must have both an understanding of the techniques' theoretical bases and the ability to interpret the spectra accurately. This workbook presents worked examples and set problems that cover one- and two-dimensional NMR techniques as applied to organic and inorganic systems. Most of the problems are genuine research examples, and this second edition contains numerous new problems derived from recent work, particularly with regard to symmetry and exchange. This new edition is fully compatible with the second edition of Modern NMR Spectroscopy: A Guide for Chemists--the two books are cross-referenced throughout. Nuclear Magnetic resonance spectroscopy is the most powerful research tool used in chemistry today, but many chemists have yet to realize its true potential. It also contains much practical advice about the acquisition and use of spectra. There are also chapters on spectrum editing and solids.
