The case law of the ECJ is placed within a conceptual context provided by the authors' text, and materials drawn from diverse sources are integrated into the discussion so as to enrich the analysis. The book has been designed so as to be able to meet the needs of a variety of courses. There is detailed coverage of both the institutional and substantive law of the Community. This enables it to be used for a course which is purely institutional, for one which contains a blend of institutional and substantive law, or for more specialist courses on particular aspects of Community law, such as sex discrimination or competition. The book has been written as the primary work through which to study the subject, but it can also be used as an accompaniment to an existing text.
