Mark Levene is an associate professor of English at the University of Toronto, Mississauga where his research interests are twentieth century British and Irish fiction, Canadian fiction, the short story, and travel and nature literature. Rosemary Sullivan is a professor of English at the University of Toronto and Canada Research Chair. She has edited several books with Oxford University Press including Short Fiction: An Anthology (2003), The Oxford Book of Stories by Canadian Women (1999), Elements of Fiction (1994), and Poetry by Canadian Women (1989). She has won both the Governor General's Award and the Canadian Author's Association Award for Non-Fiction and has just been named an Officer of the Order of Canada for her contribution to Canadian literature.
