The third edition of this acclaimed anthology explores the changing nature of politics in the developing world in the twenty-first century. Featuring work from an esteemed line-up of international contributors, Politics in the Developing World, Third Edition, provides comprehensive coverage of the field by combining theoretical approaches with discussions on social and cultural context, state governance, and such key policy issues as the environment and human rights. Review:

"This classic textbook provides the discerning student with the best possible introduction to the politics experienced by the majority of the people of the world."

--Anthony Payne, University of Sheffield

"This new edition of Politics in the Developing World is an eloquently written text by some of the leading international scholars currently working in the area. The book provides a theoretically-informed approach to understanding many of the major historical and contemporary issues impacting
politics in the developing world."

--Bruce Wilson, University of Central Florida

"Fully updated to include changing south-south relations and the political developments in the wake of the global economic crisis, this book covers all relevant themes, approaches, and policy-issues, and will be extremely useful for students in political science and development studies."

--Anne Mette Kjaer, Aarhus University

"This comprehensive introduction to politics in the Global South is the best first point of reference for students. By contrast to the rigid ideas of either universal modern governance or post-modern fragmentation, it paves the way for fruitful contextual studies of major problems in
comparative and theoretical perspective."

--Olle Tornquist, University of Oslo
