“This textbook injects an interesting active-learning approach to the standard gen psych textbook compendium. It will keep a student's attention while delivering a hands-on, fun way of learning. I am very pleased with what I have seen and would recommend this to my chair for use in future semesters.”
- Darin Challacombe, Fort Hays State University
“An indepth, engaging and interesting text.”
- Kathy Erickson, Pima Community College-East Campus
“This text does a really good job of involving students in the reading material and getting them to think about psychological concepts in a personal manner. The shorter sessions help students to pause often and think about what they have read, and the writing style is engaging and effective”
- Bakhtawar Bhadha, Pasadena City College
"I've always been concerned that an on-line course looses something "in the translation" and isn't always the best way to engage students in the learning process. This text overcomes some of those challenges by building in thought-provoking reflections about what the student is reading and learning. I like the interactive style as well as the division into manageable study sections.
- Debra Schwiesow, Creighton University
“I think it is great! Clearly written with interactive activities. All things I like in a text.”
- Lisa Black, San Diego Mesa College
“It is well organized and easy to read. It covers all the essential material and does not become bogged down with trivia. Students will like it.”
- Robert Hines, University of Arkansas, Little Rock
“The structure of this textbook will, I think, help with student motivation. I found it to be really engaging and I didn't even have access to the online activities as the students will. I think students will get more out of this textbook as well, which should help with comprehension and ultimately their grades. I also think the level of this text will help dispel more myths than the current text I am using.”
- Judith Easton, Austin Community College
“I think the coverage on culture is thorough and among the best I have seen in a text book. It was new and interesting information to me to see the list of disorders that are culture specific.”
-Glena Williams, Lonestar College North Harris
