About the Author:

Amy J. Marin received her Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Arizona State University. As a graduate student she was a National Science Foundation fellow and was the recipient of the Distinguished Achievement Award for excellence in teaching and research. She has spent the last 16 years as a full-time faculty member at Phoenix College where she teaches courses in Social Psychology, Human Sexuality, and Introduction to Psychology. When she’s not in the classroom, she’s developing active learning resources for psychology instruction. She gives presentations and workshops on teaching techniques, writes articles and guides for maximizing student success, and has received numerous grants and awards for innovative teaching. She is currently a research fellow for the Maricopa Institute of Learning.

 

Roger R. Hock received his Ph.D. from the University of California at San Diego and is currently the Director of the Psychology Program at Mendocino College in northern California. He is the author of several well-known books including two textbooks, Human Sexuality and 40 Studies that Changed Psychology: Explorations into the History of Psychological Research. He is coauthor (with Meg Kennedy Dugan) of, It’s My Life Now: Starting over after an Abusive Relationship or Domestic Violence. He brings over 20 years of teaching experience to the project.
