Pea Pickers - Born in September 1904, Eve Langley grew up in rural New South Wales with only a rudimentary education. Dressed as a boy, she found employment to support herself through her education and early writing. The Pea-Pickers, based on those early ears, was published in 1943. Her second published novel appeared in 1954. The rest of her novels, all unpublished, are held in the Mitchell Library of the State Library of New South Wales. Eve Langley spent seven years in a psychiatric hospital and later changed her name to Oscar Wilde.
